The Many Ways to Pay

The term financial aid can mean different things to different people. There are two basic types of aid: gift and self-help. Gift aid, such as scholarships and grants, is “free” and does not need to be paid back. Self-help aid includes loans (private and federal), work-study and payment plans. This type of aid requires something from you. 

As you’ll see below, there are a variety of options available to you when it comes to funding a college education at AACC. You should be able to find one – or a combination of two or more – that fit your needs.

Grants and Scholarships

Each academic year, approximately $500,000 in scholarships is awarded to AACC students, with individual awards ranging from $200 to $5,000. Every student at AACC is eligible to apply, and most students are better qualified than they think. Be sure to take advantage of this opportunity.

Loans

Loans are a type of financial aid that must be repaid. Student loans are available through the federal government and private institutions. It’s important to know the difference and the pros and cons of each. Loans can help with tuition, fees, books and more.

Student Employment Programs

There are many interesting job opportunities on AACC's campus that allow students to earn money for educational and living expenses while going to school. Jobs are available regardless of whether your FAFSA demonstrates financial need.

Military and Veterans Benefits
