Learn more about AACC’s Phlebotomy and Medical Laboratory Assistant programs through this virtual information session!

Redefine yourself by becoming a phlebotomist or medical laboratory assistant through the School of Health Sciences' programs at Anne Arundel Community College!

A phlebotomist is a medical professional trained to draw blood from patients for various lab tests, transfusions, donations or research. With a letter of recognition from our Phlebotomy Technician program, you will have the qualifications needed to work in an array of settings, including hospitals, clinics, laboratories, blood donation centers and doctors' offices.

A medical laboratory assistant (MLA) is a health care professional who supports laboratory operations by performing tasks related to specimen collection, processing and basic testing. With a certificate from AACC’s Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) program, you could work in hospitals, diagnostic laboratories, clinics and research facilities.

Join us to discuss our Medical Laboratory Sciences program career ladder, our admission and academic requirements, the application and candidate selection process, our curricula, and potential professional and academic pathways available upon completion of each program.
