PLS-131 Comparative Gov't & Politics

Introduction to theories of comparative politics and methodologies used to classify and compare political systems. Major attention will be given to the systems in Europe (Britain, France, Russia), the Middle East (Egypt, Israel, Iraq) and elsewhere. Focuses on political culture, contemporary political institutions, political and economic aspects of development, North-South relations, globalization and major policy challenges. Prerequisite: Eligibility for ENG 101/ENG 101A.
