HUS-114 Counseling,Assess & Case Mgmt

Examine professionalism in the counseling field, including professional ethics and legal duties. Learn the components of a helping relationship. Explore counseling and case management skills and techniques. Demonstrate communication skills that enhance the exchange of information including multicultural interviewing techniques. Apply assessment and the subsequent treatment planning skills associated with case management and counseling. Determine and evaluate outcome goals for intervention. Prerequisite: HUS 101 and HUS 141. Corequisite: HUS 115 or permission of department chair. Note: Also offered as HUS 114H; credit is not given for both HUS 114 and HUS 114H.
