Gain a fundamental understanding of radiation physics to include detailed explanations of x-ray circuitry, image intensification, digital imaging acquisition, mobile radiographic devices, imaging artifacts and quality control. Review C-arm functions, sterile techniques and the role of the radiographer during operating room procedures. Focus on establishing fundamental concepts and basics of radiation safety, exposure parameters, radiographic accessory devices and principles of equipment manipulation. Prerequisites: RAD 110, RAD 111 and RAD 112 with grades of C or better. Corequisite: RAD 121 and RAD 122.
