An introduction to the field of historic preservation, including its history, practices, and philosophical and legal dimensions. Lectures will be supplemented by field trips to local historic sites and preservation agencies. No previous art courses are necessary. Note: Also offered as AMS 224; credit is not given for both ART 224 and AMS 224.
