Examine family structure and functions in contemporary American society. Discuss professional ethics and focus on the variables that characterize healthy and unhealthy familiar relationships. Identify techniques, processes, and theoretical approaches that help facilitate change within families. Explore the impact of addiction and recovery on the family. Gain knowledge of the clinical implications of culturally competent counselors. Prerequisite: HUS 101.
