Explore policing in the United States, focusing on line activities of uniformed police with an emphasis on patrol. Study topics such as traffic enforcement, investigation techniques, handling juvenile crime, vice prevention, police ethics,and current events impacting law enforcement. Analyze ethical challenges related to the use of force and discuss principles of community policing. Prerequisite: CJS 111 or permission of institute director.
