Learn loading, configuring, and maintaining UNIX operating systems. Focus on popular UNIX operating systems such as Redhat LINUX and SUN's SOLARIS UNIX. Learn theory and hands-on implementation of the boot-up and shutdown process, file system creation and structure, system maintenance and security, network file system (NFS), network information system (NIS,) and UNIX IP network configuration and maintenance. Presents tools and concepts required to become a junior-level UNIX system administrator. Prerequisite: CTS 120.
