Carée Oslislo has taught health courses at AACC for more than 20 years. For her, the greatest thing about teaching here is the students. She enjoys the diversity in perspectives and experiences they bring to her classroom as well as their curiosity and willingness to learn.
In addition to teaching, she has helped execute grants AACC has received related to HIV research and education implementation, tobacco use, and sexual assault and domestic violence.
“I am passionate about health, particularly women's health,” she said. “I enjoy encouraging students to seek a healthy lifestyle. I also try to instill a passion for health and encourage individuals to advocate for their personal health and well-being. We must advocate for ourselves.”
Outside the classroom she follows her own advice by pursuing activities beneficial to her physical and mental health. She enjoys being active, spending time outdoors with her family, traveling, and cheering on the Terps from her undergraduate alma mater, the University of Maryland.
