For Patricia Brady, the thing she most enjoys about teaching at AACC is working with her physical therapist assistant students to develop their knowledge and confidence to guide patients in their recovery. Her classes cover a variety of subjects, including kinesiology, orthopedics, basic physical therapy skills, functional anatomy and issues and trends in the field of physical therapy.
Brady, who herself is an AACC graduate, has been teaching at the college since 2006. She is retired from the U.S. Navy Reserve after serving for 30 years.
"I feel that I’m typical of many who attend community college in that I have taken several different paths in getting to where I am now," she explained. "I began with a career in non-profit community health, then entered corporate employee wellness, went back to school for a second career to become a physical therapist and now am a PTA educator. All those paths have included wonderful experiences (both ups and downs) that are a reminder that life is truly about the journey."
