A Little More

Khadijat Richmond is passionate about helping low-income, first-generation and underrepresented students access and complete college. As director of Transfer Advising at AACC, she strives to ensure each student is positioned to complete a bachelor’s degree at the four-year school of their choice. As an adjunct instructor, she teaches Career Development and Assessment (PSY-100) and the college’s Student Success Seminar (ACA-100), helping students develop the skills they need to excel in college and beyond.

“I love that I can empower and encourage people to grow and stretch into their most beautiful selves,” she said. “I always learn something during my teaching experiences. The human experience is a beautiful process.”

In her spare time, Richmond enjoys crafting and making gifts for family and friends, including jackets, dresses and skirts. She also enjoys hearing people’s stories and the strong bonds that develop from having deep, meaningful conversations.
