Jackie Gambone has been inspired to educate since birth. It was something that always spoke to her and she has made an incredible career out of it so far! A public school teacher for years, Gambone was eager to start teaching at the college level. “I came to this college desperate to try teaching at the college level when no other college would give me a chance because I didn’t have any college teaching experience,” Gambone said. She was soon hired as an adjunct faculty member and quickly became a full-time professor. She has thoroughly enjoyed and continues to enjoy her career at AACC.
Gambone earned her bachelor’s degree from West Chester University. There she studied education, kindergarten through grade 8, with an emphasis in history. She then earned a master’s degree in school leadership from Wilmington University. Knowing that she wanted to challenge herself even more, she earned her doctoral degree from Capella University in post-secondary and adult education. Her doctoral dissertation focused on critical thinking and engagement strategies for educators.
As a former public school teacher, teaching pre-service and in-service teachers is part of her life purpose. In her classes she brings empathy, understanding and fun to each of her students. She treasures the community at AACC and gives back by being part of the coaching program.
When she’s not in the classroom, you can find Gambone with her husband, four children and and two kitties. She enjoys being on the beach, surfing, painting and music.
