Louben Repke believes he was born to help people. A personal trainer in our community since 2009, Repke owns Repke Fitness where he is on a mission to help clients adopt healthier lifestyles with an emphasis on preventative health.
An AACC alumnus, Repke believes the college was an integral part of his success. Graduating with a degree in health, fitness and exercise in 2011, he opened Repke Fitness in Millersville in 2014. With his 2017 winnings from AACC’s Business Pitch Competition, a “Shark-Tank” style event for business seed funding supported by the Philip E. and Carole R. Ratcliffe Foundation, he launched its next phase of growth. When Repke realized he wanted to gain a deeper understanding of pathology, pharmacology and the musculoskeletal system to become a better personal trainer, he returned to AACC to pursue a nursing degree. He has been a registered nurse for nearly a decade and credits his education and experience at AACC for giving him a better understanding of clients’ needs, limitations and conditions.
In 2019, Repke joined the AACC Foundation board of directors to support its mission. As an indispensable partner of the college, the AACC Foundation expands private philanthropy and cultivates partnerships to enhance AACC’s ability to support students and initiatives that strengthen our community.
Reflecting on his desire to give back to the community as a board member, Repke said, “Community plays an important role in my life and in my business. I am grateful to be able to give back to a place that has given so much to me.”
We are grateful for AACC alumni like Repke who provide leadership to build a stronger community in Anne Arundel County and beyond.
"Helping people is my passion. I have been in the health field for over 10 years but have never worked a day in my life. My great pleasure comes from helping my clients not only transform their bodies but change their lives.” –Louben Repke
