"A Mind of Exploration"

Who knows a college campus better than its students? At Anne Arundel Community College, the Ambassadors Campus Team features campus leaders and experts on all things AACC.

Nursing transfer student Hallie Zlokovitz joined to get involved in a meaningful way. One of her favorite experiences was co-leading the campus tour during the Open House.

“It ended up being really fun, getting to talk to all the people and connecting with different families that were there,” she said. “That was probably my favorite event.”

Preparing for the tour gave Zlokovitz a chance to explore parts of campus she hadn’t seen before, including West Campus and the Cade Gallery.

One of Zlokovitz’s favorite spots is the Health and Life Sciences Building.

“I usually hang out by the Chick-fil-A. Even if I'm not getting food, I just like being in that big open window area.”

You might also find her at the library’s reference desk, the science tutoring center or the Wellness Wednesday produce market.

Fellow ambassador Victor Aigbedion shares her love of AACC. He likes to point out the “beautiful campus” to potential students.

Aigbedion, a dually enrolled student at Glen Burnie High, is working toward a certificate in law enforcement and criminal justice before transferring to George Washington University to study political science.

He focuses on the Ambassadors’ leadership development. His favorite spot on campus is Student Services where he works at the Information Desk. He has also led tours, done outreach in high schools and spoken at convocation.

“If I was not as proactive as I was, and I didn't throw myself at all of these things, I would not have the experience, I would not be the person that I am today,” he said.

His advice to new students: come with “a mind of exploration.”
