After two years of high school in Maryland, Fagboyegun’s journey brought him to AACC where he excelled academically. “It would be an understatement to say that AACC has not had a profound impact on my outlook on life, on my ideology, and on both my professional and personal life,” Fagboyegun said in his Valedictorian speech during the 2018 Commencement.
Fagboyegun owes part of his success to the Science Division Scholarship that he received his last year. “I can now certainly feel relieved to finish this semester without having to look elsewhere for another part-time job or supplemental income.” Like Fagboyegun, many AACC students have to work one or multiple jobs to afford college on top of their day-to-day bills. Thanks to the generosity of scholarship donors, Fagboyegun was able to graduate as AACC’s Valedictorian in 2018 and is planning to continue his education at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.
