Come Visit Your Community's College

Students walking across campus.
As the community’s college, AACC invites you to step onto our beautiful Arnold campus and experience everything we have to offer! Whether you’re exploring college options, looking for free resources or wanting to be inspired, you’ll find something here for you.

EXPLORE OUR CAMPUS AND PLAN YOUR FUTURE

If you’re interested in attending AACC, start your journey with a guided walking tour and see for yourself how it feels when you’re accepted. You’ll explore our campus and the resources designed to support your success. If you’d rather go at your own pace, take our new self-guided tour through your phone. If there’s a specific program piquing your interest, attend an on-campus information session that’ll provide the specifics you need to apply.

Each fall, AACC hosts an open house where you can learn about our programs. You’ll meet faculty and students, experience demonstrations from academic programs, and visit classrooms and labs. Our admissions and financial aid representatives can answer your questions.

If you’re interested in four-year schools, we also host a college fair every spring. (This year’s is March 12). Stop by AACC’s booth, then meet with representatives from more than 100 colleges attending to begin planning your transfer journey.

TAKE ADVANTAGE OF OUR RESOURCES

Did you know we have programs supporting county residents? The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free federal and state income tax preparation, review and e-filing services for qualifying Maryland taxpayers.

Our Legal Self-Help Clinic connects you with state-licensed attorneys assisted by volunteer AACC legal studies students to answer questions. Volunteers can explain what could happen in court, outline processes, identify specific paperwork that may need filing and more.

If you’re looking for a book, Truxal Library is open to county residents. Just bring proof of address to check out books.

CHEER ON THE RIVERHAWKS

AACC is home to 11 intercollegiate sports teams competing at the NJCAA level. Our teams regularly make post-season appearances. In fact, AACC has five national championships! Coming to a game is a great way to experience a different side of campus. All regular-season home sporting events are free to attend, so come support our student-athletes.

EXPERIENCE THE ARTS

With a performing arts center and two galleries on campus, we offer artistic experiences sure to amaze and entertain you. Throughout the year, we host a rotation of art exhibits by professional artists, faculty and students in our Cade Center and Pascal Center galleries.

For live performances, the Pascal Center for Performing Arts is home to concerts, operas, plays and dance featuring students, faculty, community members and visiting artists.

TAKE A HIKE

If you’re looking to get your steps in, the Earl S. Scott Nature Trail winds along a stream through a small tract of forest. Pedestrian bridges provide dry passage over Dividing Creek and handrails offer safety along steeper portions. You can also walk on our athletics track when it’s not in use. Both are available during daylight hours when the college is open.

If you need inspiration before your walk, consider stopping by the Martin Luther King Jr. statue – the only one in Anne Arundel County – to read some of the Civil Rights leader’s quotes.
