Dr. Dawn Lindsay, AACC president, was inducted into the Anne Arundel Chamber of Commerce Business Hall of Fame on Oct. 16. The recognition is awarded to business and community leaders for their contributions to the growth and success of organizations in Anne Arundel County.
“I am honored to receive this recognition,” Lindsay said. “AACC truly is the community’s college, and I am gratified to see how much the community values the work we do.”
Lindsay has served as the sixth president of AACC since 2012. Under her leadership, AACC has strengthened its reputation as a premier learning institution, built and improved campus buildings and cultivated impactful partnerships that serve both students and the broader community. She is an active advocate, representing the needs, values and importance of the community college system at the local, state and national levels.
“Anne Arundel County offers a steady pipeline of students requiring workforce training in healthcare, cybersecurity, engineering, business, education, skilled trades and more,” Lindsay said. “Thanks to strong relationships with Fort Meade, BWI, local hospitals, the County Public Schools, AAWDC, Leadership Anne Arundel, St. John’s College, the Naval Academy, AACC is able to offer cutting edge programs to recent high school grads and career changers alike.”
In addition to her role at the college, Lindsay serves on multiple boards, including the League for Innovation in the Community College, the American Association of Community Colleges and the Luminis Health Anne Arundel Medical Center Community Advisory Council.
Along with Lindsay, Tom O’Leary, Ted Levitt and Jan Wood, CFRE, also were inducted into the Hall of Fame.
