AACC students talking outside.
As understandings of gender roles, gender identity and sexuality continue to change in our society, joining our Gender and Sexuality Studies program allows you to explore and analyze diversity in new and innovative ways.

Our interdisciplinary program will enable you to study gender and sexuality through the lenses of biology, history, sociology and other fields. You'll be able to re-examine traditionally held beliefs about gender and sexuality from both a historical and modern perspective. You’ll develop skills sought after by employers and graduate schools, such as critical thinking, creative problem-solving and ethical decision-making. Many of our students pair a certificate or degree in gender and sexuality studies with another discipline to demonstrate specialized expertise within a larger field.

Transfer Degrees

The Interdisciplinary Studies department is proud to offer the Associate of Arts (A.A.) in gender and sexuality studies. As an additional transfer option, AACC has the unique transfer studies degree. Both degrees will prepare you to transfer to a four-year institution. Whichever path you choose, we strongly encourage you to meet with an advisor to structure your AACC studies to meet your specific transfer goals.

Gender and Sexuality Studies, Arts and Science Transfer, A.A.
