Are you an app enthusiast hoping to design your own applications for the web or mobile devices?

In our programs, you’ll focus on designing and programming interactive apps either for the internet or devices like smartphones and tablets. You’ll learn traditional programming languages, scripting languages and database management systems.

If you already have a college degree, you may be eligible to complete these programs through the Fast Track Option, which means your general education, health, computing and information technology and competency, and diversity requirements are considered satisfied. 


Career Degrees

AACC offers the following Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. The state of Maryland refers to the A.A.S. as a career degree, because it's intended to provide you with skills to enter the workforce. In some cases, AACC has entered into transfer agreements that allow these degrees to transfer to select colleges. 

This degree prepares you for careers in designing and programming interactive applications for the internet, smartphones or tablets. You will become familiar with the concepts and technologies used in both client and server side program development, including traditional programming languages, scripting languages and database management systems.

Job Outlook

Once you’ve completed one of these programs, you’ll have a new range of skills, including programming using the iOS or Android operating system development environment, and developing meaningful applications or web pages for the iPhone, iPad and Android smartphones and tablets. A.A.S. degrees are designed for students hoping to join the workforce. You’ll have the skills to become a program and software designer or developer, giving you opportunities to work for software developers and large companies like Google and Apple, or to develop your own company based on a unique vision.
