Massage therapy is rewarding work with a flexible schedule and job opportunities in varied settings. Our well respected, affordable massage therapy program trains students in the manual manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues to enhance function, support healing, relieve pain, promote relaxation and aid in the overall wellness of clients.
The massage therapy program is approved by the Maryland Board of Massage Therapy Examiners and has a 96 percent first-time pass rate on the licensing examination. Our staff is highly qualified, enthusiastic and dedicated to student success.
AACC offers the following Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degrees. The state of Maryland refers to the A.A.S. as a career degree, because it's intended to provide you with skills to enter the workforce. In some cases, AACC has entered into transfer agreements that allow these degrees to transfer to select colleges. A list of active agreements may be found on this website. The Massage Therapy Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree is designed for students who want to become licensed massage therapists (LMT) and do not have the 60 college credits required by Maryland board.

If you decide to earn your A.A.S. degree in massage therapy, you can transfer to complete your four-year degree. We have partnerships and transfer agreements in place with many colleges and universities so you can easily transfer when you're ready. Transfer agreements (or “articulation agreements,” as they’re officially called) are formal arrangements between institutions that allow certain credits to transfer seamlessly from one school to the other.
