Maryland casinos require the following:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test.
• Ability to obtain a gaming license, which includes a background check.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays. 
• Have a minimum number of games (varies by casino).

All dealer school instructors are currently employed at the supervisory level in one of the local Maryland casinos.

The maximum class size for all dealer school courses is 12 students. This allows for a better student-teacher ratio.

Dealer school classes are Monday-Thursday, with three available start times:

• 7:30-11:30 a.m.
• 1-5 p.m.
• 6:30-10:30 p.m.

There are two available paths for a dealer; table games or poker.  For table games, your first course would be GAM-300 ACT 1 Blackjack Dealer.  For poker, COO-385 Casino Poker Dealer.

We have a very diverse student population at the dealer school. Our instructors are experienced in working with students from a variety backgrounds. All courses, however, are taught in English. To be a successful student, students must have a good command of the English language. If interested, AACC offers English Basic Skills for additional help.

We have an open lab time that is available to all current students and recent alumni. Open lab is free practice time offered several times throughout the week and supervised by an instructor.

Scholarships are available for eligible students. We currently have two scholarships available.

• Live! Casino & Hotel Dealer Training Scholarship for table games requires all applicants to attend an information session.
• CEWD Job Training Scholarship, which is need based and can be used for all of the Dealer School courses. 

A payment plan is also available for select courses.

No, however, Live! Casino & Hotel conducts weekly auditions at the dealer school for eligible students.
