Our experienced and credentialed professional faculty will prepare you for the the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (C.F.E.R.) exam and a career working in a variety of medical settings to ensure the cleanliness and safety of operating rooms, tables and other equipment. Learn about the flexible endoscope reprocessing rules, regulations, safety, anatomy, physiology, microbiology, infection prevention, medical terminology and flexible endoscopy procedures, workplace design and employee safety, cleaning and high-level disinfection.

This program will prepare individuals to take the exam to become a Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (C.F.E.R.) through the Certified Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Inc.

What will it cost?

The course costs $405 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition and fees, and is eligible for the continuing education payment plan.

What are the requirements?

Students interested in enrolling in the program must have:

• Must be 18 years old
• High School or GED® diploma 
• English as a Second Language students must earn a composite score of 310 or better on the Level of
  English Proficiency exam, or successfully complete Capstone Level ESL coursework.
• Basic computer technology skills (typing, email and internet navigation)
• Completion of 12 months of full-time employment or equivalent part-time hours processing flexible endoscopes (provide verification signed by your manager on your exam application) ...OR
• Completion of an endoscopy technician course with a minimum of 16 hours and a grade of 70 or higher (provide copy of certificate/grade from your instructor) AND six months of full-time employment or equivalent part-time hours in related allied health (clinical healthcare profession) performing endoscopy activities in an endoscopy setting (provide verification signed by your manager on your exam application) ...OR
• Completion of an endoscopy technician course with a minimum of eight hours and a grade of 70 or higher (provide copy of certificate/grade from your instructor) AND 6 months experience processing flexible endoscopes
• Permission from the coordinator must be granted to sign up for this course.
