The Student Achievement and Success Program (SASP) is a support and retention program at Anne Arundel Community College designed to increase the academic success, retention, graduation and transfer of students who may have more barriers and challenges to overcome in order to realize their goals. 


How To Connect

SASP is open to all students who want to develop a personal success plan and access exclusive resources. If you are a first-time college student, qualify for financial aid, need to take or are taking noncredit developmental English and/or mathematics, identify as part of a minority population and/or have a direct military/veteran community connection, you are encouraged to connect with us!

What Can Be Borrowed

  • SASP students may request to borrow textbooks, calculators, access codes and e-books associated with credit or developmental* courses from the SASP Lending Library, if available. 
  • Requests are limited to two required items each for up to two AACC enrolled credit or developmental* courses per semester.
  • The scientific calculators available for borrowing are TI-84 models.
  • SASP cannot purchase any textbook that is not listed on the AACC Bookstore website.
  • These items are ineligible for borrowing:
    • Novels (see Truxal Library for other options)
    • Direct Digital Access (DDA)
    • Openstax
    • Free e-books
  • If e-books are available, they may be substituted for textbooks. 
  • Students may request an access code for:
    • A course in a single semester
    • More than one course within a discipline should request the multi-semester access.
    • Two or more courses within a discipline during one semester should select materials listed as Unlimited (four months). 
    • Courses over subsequent semesters within a discipline should select materials listed as Unlimited for one year or two. 
  • Items cannot be borrowed until the course begins.
  • Textbooks, access codes and related materials for Continuing Education** courses, also known as noncredit courses, do not qualify for borrowing in our lending program.

*A developmental course is defined in the AACC College Catalog as a precollege level course designed to help a student improve skills and prepare for college-level classes.
**A Continuing Education course is defined in the AACC College Catalog as a noncredit course that is for personal or professional interest and not used toward a credit degree.

Student Eligibility

  • Students must be connected with SASP.
  • Students must be enrolled in credit or developmental courses during the semester in which they are borrowing items.
  • Students must deplete their FAFSA award book voucher funds prior to their borrowing request. Students can contact the financial aid office to determine if they are eligible for book voucher funds.
  • Students are ineligible to borrow if they have any overdue items from a previous semester, or they have already graduated with a degree.

How to Borrow Items

Item Pickup

  • Students are responsible for monitoring their MyAACC Outlook email (mymail.aacc.edu) account for information about their request and borrowed items.
  • Students will be notified by email how and when to pick up their items. The student must be present at pickup and show a valid photo ID.
  • Access code and e-book materials will be sent electronically to the student's MyAACC Outlook email (mymail.aacc.edu) account.

The Crosby Marketing Scholars Program is a scholarship opportunity supporting students from diverse backgrounds who are pursuing degrees in advertising, public relations and other related fields. The program aims to create greater opportunities for students to succeed both during their studies and in their future careers. Selected scholars receive financial assistance for their education, mentorship from industry professionals and holistic support from AACC faculty and staff.

The Military/Veteran Resource Center (MVRC) provides assistance and peer support for military-connected students during each stage of the AACC admissions and enrollment process, as well as guidance on the use of financial aid and military/veteran education benefits. The Presidential Opportunity Scholarship is awarded to recent AACPS graduates selected by their principals. Each year a cohort of incoming students works with a dedicated SASP advisor to cultivate personal and professional strengths in an individual and group setting.
