Alycia Marshall, Ph.D., is the visionary behind AACC’s African American Leadership Institute, which she founded to cultivate and empower emerging Black leaders. Formerly the associate vice president for Learning and Academic Affairs at AACC, she now serves as provost and vice president for academic and student success at the Community College of Philadelphia. With a doctorate in mathematics education from the University of Maryland, College Park, Marshall’s extensive career includes years of high school and college-level teaching and service as Mathematics department chair at AACC, where she oversaw up to 120 faculty and staff.
Marshall has been recognized with multiple awards, including the Verizon Community Innovator Award and the John and Suanne Roueche Excellence Award. She also founded a grant program providing scholarships, mentoring, and support to underrepresented STEM students and remains active in national mathematics education reform.
