Students in the Architecture and Interior Design department often participate in design contests and real projects that expose them to the requirements, limitations and problems associated with the "real world."

Our students have won local, regional, state and national awards, often beating out students at a higher level in a university program. Our community service projects allow students the unique opportunity to interact with members of the community while applying their skills learned in class. In the case of the college's monumental entrance sign, the college's Board of Trustees sponsored a design contest for an Architectural Design 2 class. The winning design by Lawrence Kuper was built and can be seen on Ritchie Highway.
