Our department believes that field trips, such as those listed below, are a very effective way to reinforce and expand what is taught in the classroom. Not all field trips are done in the same semester, but are scheduled according to the course syllabus. Some are during class time, others are all-day events. The costs are usually free or at a discounted rate. Student response has always been extremely positive. And yes, you really do learn something! The department also has "ultimate" field trips: Travel Study courses to Paris and Chicago.
