Most career training tracks are credit programs leading to a degree, certificate or letter of recognition. However, some child care training and teacher professional development courses are offered through noncredit. If you are not sure which track you need to pursue, contact us at teach@aacc.edu.
New students who wish to take credit classes but have never been enrolled in Anne Arundel Community College must apply to the college before scheduling an appointment with an advisor. Refer to Apply and Register for more information. If you already know which degree or certificate you wish to pursue, pick from the codes below.
The following degrees and certificates are offered through the TEACH Institute and are listed in the catalog. If you are following a different catalog year, your degree/certificate codes might be different. If you are a current student, you can change your program/degree code on MyAACC.
Early Childhood Development - AAS.EDU.ECD
Early Childhood Education/Special Education - AAT.EDU.ECE
Elementary/Elementary Special Education - AAT.EDU.ELEM-ESE
Teacher Education - AA.EDU.TEACH
Students who have never attended college and do not have ACT, SAT, AP or CLEP scores will need to be assessed for proficiency in English, reading and mathematics prior to meeting with an advisor to schedule classes. For more information about the placement assessment, including how to prepare for it, explore AACC's Academic Support Services.
