If you enjoy working with your hands and making people's home and work environment comfortable, there is a strong demand for well-trained heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) technicians. AACC offers a number of hands-on career training programs in this field — whether you are new to the industry or looking to upgrade your skills. Our HVAC training opportunities are affordably priced, offer flexible schedules, are conveniently located and accessible by car, bus and MARC train.


Training Overview

Apprenticeship Program

Our short-term training opportunities can prepare you to start as an entry-level technician or to enter formal apprenticeship training, combining on-the-job training with time in school. Programs are available through Associated Builders and Contractors.

Pre-apprenticeship Program

Our Pre-apprenticeship HVAC program is designed to prepare you to enter and succeed in a registered HVAC Apprenticeship program.

  • CIT-307 Pre-apprenticeship HVAC Training Part A
  • CIT-308 Pre-apprenticeship HVAC Training Part B
  • NRN-332 Heartsaver First Aid CPR AED

The Pre-apprenticeship program cost is $3,443 for Anne Arundel County residents, including tuition and fees.

HVACR Journeyman/Master

If you are an experienced HVACR technician, prepare for the Maryland HVACR Journeyman and Master exams. Study the International Mechanical Code. Learn the theory and service of air conditioning, refrigeration, gas and oil heating, and ventilation. Learn how to use an ACCA Ductulator and how to calculate heat load.
